Activities in the Transplant Community

2015 LIVER LIFE WALK

Hundreds of people showed up at Ocean View Park in Santa Monica, California to participate in the 2015 Liver Life Walk in support of the critical work that the American Liver Foundation is doing with research to prevent and cure liver disease. This was my fourth liver life walk since my liver transplant in 2008, and it has provided me with an opportunity to pay forward by increasing awareness of liver disease and the work being done to prevent and cure it.

2016 Donate Life/One Legacy Run/Walk

The annual Donate Life/One Legacy Run/Walk will take place on the campus of Cal State Fullerton on April 30, 2016.  Thousands come together each year to celebrate life, to honor organ donor families and encourage organ donation.  Mark you calendars for this event. I hope to see you there.

TEAM USA WORLD TRANSPLANT GAMES ~ ARGENTINA

Congratulations to Team USA for their performance in the 2015 World Transplant Games in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Team USA, consisting of 37 athletes, participated in multiple events winning 31 gold medals, 31 silver, and 26 bronze. They ranked fourth in the Outstanding Team Awards behind Hungary, Great Britain/Northern Ireland, and Germany. This event is a wonderful opportunity for members of the organ transplant community to celebrate life, increase awareness, worldwide, of the need for organ donation, and encourage organ donor registration.

2017 WORLD TRANSPLANT GAMES ~ MALAGA, SPAIN

The 2017 World Transplant Games will be held in Malaga, Spain from June 25 thru July 2.  I look forward to the opportunity to participate in that event. I have participated in the Transplant Games of America in 2014 in Houston, Texas, and I will be participating in my second Transplant Games in Cleveland, Ohio in 2016. So I am excited about joining Team USA for the first time as they participate in the World Transplant Games in Malaga, Spain. If anyone is  interested in participating in the World Transplant Games, contact teamusa.worldgames@gmail.com  for information about the games and registration.

2015 LIVER LIFE WALK
I will be participating in the 2015 Liver Life Walk at Ocean View Park in Santa Monica, California on September 20. Hundreds of people will join in the event to support the life saving efforts of the American Liver Foundation. I hope you will come and join in the fun for a very worthy cause.

As a liver transplant recipient, I have participated in the Liver Life Walk for the last 4 years to support the efforts of the American Liver Foundation (ALF)   I will walk in this event as well as attempt to raise funds in support of the work of the ALF, so your donation will help me reach my fundraising goal, and advance the ongoing work of the ALF to conduct research that will help prevent and cure liver disease. Visit my fundraising page and help me reach my fundraising goal:
